WHAT AMAZON IS TELLING US ABOUT THE FUTURE of STOCK MARKET

Amazon’s Earnings Reveal the Future of AI & Semiconductor Stocks

  • Chip Shortages & Stock Market Trends – Amazon’s AWS supply constraints highlight a growing semiconductor shortage, signaling a bullish outlook for Nvidia (NVDA), AMD, and ASML stocks.
  •  AI Boom & $300B Investment in 2025 – Big Tech is set to spend over $300 billion on AI infrastructure, driving massive demand for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Best Semiconductor Stocks to Buy Now – Nvidia dominates AI chips, AMD gains political backing, and ASML’s stock buybacks signal long-term growth potential.

Chip manufacturing companies, Strong Buy?

Amazon’s latest earnings call has revealed an important opportunity. Analyzing the transcript of Amazon’s earnings report with the forecaster terminal, this powerful tool has spotted a trend that may want you to relocate your assets.

The Supply Chain Struggles of AWS

Amazon Web Services (AWS), the cloud computing arm of Amazon, is facing substantial challenges due to supply constraints. Delays in chip manufacturing, power availability, and critical hardware components such as motherboards are slowing down AWS’s growth. This highlights a broader issue in the tech industry: the increasing demand for chips is outpacing supply, creating a significant shortage.

This supply shortage underscores the growing importance of chip manufacturers and AI-focused technology. If a tech giant like Amazon struggles to source essential components, it signals a bullish outlook for semiconductor stocks.

AI and the Surge in Chip Investments

A recent Financial Times report (Big Tech lines up over $300bn in AI spending for 2025) projects that major tech companies will invest over $300 billion in AI by 2025. The demand for AI infrastructure is skyrocketing, reinforcing the necessity for advanced semiconductor production. Nvidia, one of the leaders in AI chip technology, and one of our portfolio companies, stands to benefit significantly from this trend.

The Amazon earnings transcript strongly suggests that AI-related investments will continue to expand, making semiconductor companies lucrative opportunities for investors. The limited chip supply today foreshadows a future of sustained growth in this sector.

Nvidia vs. AMD: A Market Comparison

While Nvidia remains the dominant player in the AI and GPU markets, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is attempting to catch up. However, AMD’s stock has recently reached what is commonly called the balance point, which is simply the net income intersecting with the stock price, indicating that its growth momentum is not as strong and immediate as Nvidia’s. Despite this, AMD remains a stock to watch, with great potential for long-term growth following the trend of increasing demand for Chips.

Interestingly, U.S. politicians have been investing heavily in Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. over the past three to four quarters. This trend suggests confidence in the company’s future prospects, making it an intriguing option for investors, like me, who believe that AMD’s stock price will be much higher in the medium to long term.

Do these Arguments stand for Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography ? (ASML Holding N.V.)

In my opinion, another interesting player in the semiconductor industry is Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography (ASML Holding N.V.), a Dutch company listed on both the Amsterdam Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. ASML has faced challenges due to the U.S. restricting sales to China, leading to a temporary slowdown in sales and net income. However, despite these setbacks, the company remains fundamentally strong, with a further indicator being the company’s management optimistic view as they are recurrently buying back ASML shares.  A practice that benefits investors by increasing shareholder value. The company’s shareholder yield comprising dividends, net buybacks, and debt payments stands at 1.5%, making it an attractive long-term investment option.

Conclusion: A Future Dominated by AI and Semiconductors

Amazon’s earnings report provides a crucial warning: chip shortages are real and will continue to impact the growth of major tech companies. However, this presents an opportunity for investors to capitalize on semiconductor stocks, particularly Nvidia, AMD, and ASML. As AI investments surge, these companies are poised for significant long-term gains, making them strong contenders for any forward-looking investment portfolio.
