Introduction
In this final lesson of our masterclass, we dive deep into how to spot the best trading and investing opportunities using the tools available in the Forecaster Terminal. Whether you’re a data-driven trader or a long-term investor, these tools offer practical, actionable insights to support your strategy.
1. Quantum Screener: Turn Data into Alpha
The Quantum Screener is your gateway to discovering tradeable opportunities across all asset classes. You can choose parameters such as the asset class: here, you can select your preferred asset class from a drop-down menu or view all of them together (e.g., Commodities, Cryptocurrencies, Forex, and Indexes)
Time Frame: Here, you can evaluate a trade starting from today’s date over a selected time frame — 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or 12 months
Trade direction, here you can select the direction for your trade (If long or short, or select them both together)
The Quantum Screener tool then returns the most statistically significant ideas based on:
Correlation with historical seasonality
Win rate (% of past years with positive return)
Average expected return
Example:
Searching for Indexes, 3-month timeframe, long trades:
The Bovespa Index (Brazil) showed an 85% correlation with its 30-year seasonality and an Average return of +9.2%.
Switching to S&P 500 stocks:
Brown & Brown, Inc. had an 85.18% correlation with the past 3 years, offering a 13.8% average return, and 100% win rate in that window.
Why it matters:
It helps you find when and where to trade, using pure math—not emotions or narratives.
➡️ Tip: Sort by correlation, win rate, or return depending on your strategy. The tool adapts to your needs.
2. Break Even: Spot the Turnaround Stories
The Break Even page highlights companies that have posted a quarterly profit for the first time after at least five quarters of losses. These are often catalysts for powerful price moves.
Why it matters:
Companies turning profitable often see strong investor interest.
Historical examples like Palantir or Twilio show how prices spike after break-even quarters.
➡️ Use the AI Agent to investigate the business model, risks, and cash flow. Avoid traps (e.g., Fossil Group had a profit but showed shrinking sales and a weak Z-score).
3. Macro Map: Align with the Economic Cycle
The Macro Map is a top-down tool showing which sectors are expanding, contracting, or in recession, and how they’ve performing currently, this helps you imagine what is coming next.
Key Features:
Visualize sector momentum
Check correlation with seasonality
Identify where you are in the economic cycle
Example:
Consumer Defensive is in expansion and highly correlated with historical seasonal patterns—an ideal target sector for short-term trades.
You can then zoom into that sector and sort stocks by Value, Ratios and performance (Price Change).
➡️ Combine this with Quantum Screener or Break Even to find trades in sectors with strong macro backing.
4. Rankings: Dive Into Sectors and Industries
The Rankings tool allows you to filter and sort by:
Indexes
Sectors
Industries
Each S&P 500 sector is broken down into its industries, helping you find:
Undervalued companies
Top performers over selected periods
High dividend yielders
Companies with strong fundamentals
➡️ Great for sector rotation strategies or finding relative strength within a theme.
